Description
Created as the epitome of luxury blended whisky, the blue label is a combination of roughly 16 different whiskies which range in age from 15 50+ years old. The bottle bares no age statement as a reflection that the only whiskies used in the blend are of the rarest quality from the house of Walkers reserves. When looking at creating the blue label in the mid 1980s the key aspects visited by Jim Beveridge & Jonathon Driver were that they were looking for more robust, savoury styles as the elements involved. Key malts at the time were Caol Isla/Port Ellen (west coast) Mortlach (east coast) & Royal Lochnager (European oak influence).
